We are dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion in the Computer Science and general STEM fields at UCSD.
Our goal is to ensure our colleagues have a strong support system and appropriate resources to pursue their endeavors.
We are also committed to creating a comfortable environment and fun social group for our members. Work hard, play hard!
GradWIC's department-wide graduate mentorship program has been active and growing since 2017. Our goal is to build a tighter community within our department, and this program is for all members of our graduate community, regardless of identity.
We like to partner with companies in industry to help our members learn about future career opportunities and foster industry presence at UCSD. Do you want to help GradWIC and show your support for tomorrow's women in tech? We are looking for donations to support our events and initiatives.
We have several options for ways you can work with us for the school year, including different types of events we can hold, ways to get your company name out to our members, and general donations. All donations to GradWIC are tax deductible. Feel free to contact us at cse-gradwic-officers@ucsd.edu if you're interested.

We hold general body meetings every quarter. These give us a chance to catch up, discuss ideas for future events and opportunities, and share stories and advice.
We put on a variety of social events to help bond as a community. Events include movie outings, barbecues, and lunches with faculty.
We host networking events and panel discussions in order to foster professional development. Past topics include unconscious bias in the workplace, and transitioning into industry.
During the school year, we also conduct outreach to undergraduates and K-12 students, giving them visible role models and early insight into computing research.
In previous years, we provided scholarships to support students to attend diversity conferences such as the Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing and the CMD-IT/ACM Richard Tapia Conference. GradWIC no longer provides scholarships, but we still encourage students to apply for these conferences and other diversity conferences.
